Heart of Strasbourg by the Canal - Rooftop view

Positive: Proximité du centre ville et toute commodités. Appartement très propre et bien décoré. Negative: 4ème sans ascenseur. Difficile quand on a des bagages car l'escalier au dernier étage est très étroit

Beautiful loft right in the old town

All worked very well Positive: Easy clean quiet Negative: All great - not an issue for most but a warning to people who struggle with stairs: 4th floor no lift.

Schöne Wohnung, unkomfortable An- und Abreisezeiten Positive: Sehr schöne Lage, schön eingerichtet, alles da was man braucht Negative: Für sechs Personen eigentlich nicht so gut ausgerichtet. Wenn oben jemand schläft, kann man unten im Wohnzimmer nichts mehr machen, da akustisch nicht abgetrennt. Couch unten für zwei etwas schmal. Ankunft- und Abreisezeiten sind nicht komfortabel. Gegen Bezahlung kann man länger bleiben oder früher als 17:00 Uhr anreisen

Positive: 1. The location is very good. You are very close to the city centre and many good restaurants and supermarkets. 2. The host (Audric) was very responsive and provided a detailed check-in PDF. He responded to my questions very quickly. 3. The apartment was clean and tidy. There is also a dishwasher, which was useful for a family of 4. Negative: 1. The apartment is on the 4th floor with no elevator, which means it is very inconvenient if travelling with a baby (we were). 2. There is one bedroom, not two (ad says "two bedrooms"). Only one bedroom has a door. The other beds are in an open loft (no door for privacy). The last staircase is also very narrow, which makes carrying a stroller very difficult (see pictures). 3. The apartment is on the top floor, which means there are lots of areas where the ceiling slopes. If you are >175cm, you will bump your head in the kitchen, beside the couches, in the bathroom, the bedroom, etc. 4. The shower is the smallest I've ever seen in an apartment/hotel/airbnb. We are all >180cm, and we literally could not stand in the shower (the ceiling is too low). It was very uncomfortable for us, I have to admit. See pictures for context. 5. Accessing the loft is very difficult. There is no robust protection if you lose balance. There is a thin metal chain for support when climbing a long ladder to access the loft space (where two beds are), but I would not trust it for protection if you lose balance. If you are >50 or do not have good balance, this will be problematic. 6. You cannot stand in the loft section (if you are an adult). Very inconvenient if you need to get up to go to the bathroom during the night (plus the stairs will be dangerous). 7. (Possibly my fault, but worth mentioning) There is a very large exposed wooden beam directly over one of the couches. I hit my head on it several times. If you sit on the couch, you will probably forget about it, then stand up and BANG. Conclusion: if you have a baby and/or are tall and/or are travelling with elderly people, this apartment might not be a good option. Just my opinion. Maybe it suits a young group of travellers.
